5/18/2023 0 Comments Depth maps in topaz lens effects![]() Why do you persevere with their software if this is how you feel I'm also a little surprised that having just joined our group this very day, you launch into an attack on the company. Hasifleur I don't think this is the experience of members of our group at all, in fact, quite to the contrary, I'm most surprised this is your experience! Thanks very much for the heads up Delos:-) Seems to me that a company in such a highly competitive market as Photoshop plugins would want to rise to the occasion and meet the competition head on. I have, in the past sent messages and gotten no response at all. My issue with this plugin, as with all Topaz plugins, is that should there be a problem with it, you're just stuck! The only way to contact Topaz Labs is through an email address on their site - no phone support such as Nik or OnOne provides, and then cross your fingers and hope they get back to you in a timely way, or get back to you at all. :Attn: beta testers: go to the beta forum on Topaz Labs for a VERY important piece of information! I'll have to have more of a try with this, I'm sure there are plenty more positive things in LensEffects. However, the LensEffects system does it all in one package, and could be quite a lot easier and cheaper for those who want to do that stuff a lot, or without photoshop. I do get the impression that, like others had hinted at, Photoshop could do most of these things, with perhaps existing Topaz plugins (for exposure balancing). The masking system seemed like a cut down ReMask, and seemed to do a fair job on a clean, noise free, non-busy image (like the one of the girl on the Topaz Lab product page). I kinda liked the Bokeh effect, and the fact that depth has been incorporated into the equation. Will deload the trial, am interested in the Tilt/Shift effects mostly. Looking forward to feedback from all of you! Thanks for announcing for us! Just wanted to let you and others here know that we will be offering Lens Effects for $49.99 until May 27, 2011. Since the marketing folks at TA more or less monitor our discussions, please be mindful that your suggestions may make it into future iterations and your bug reports may actually help to improve the product. I eagerly await hearing your comments and seeing your output. It will really pay to view the tutorials on the Topaz Labs website. There are a lot of components to this plug-in and some of them are quite radical. ![]() At $80.00 (USD) I'd highly recommend the 30 day trial and super highly recommend that you actually take some time to see if it really fits into your workflow. ![]()
